Tuition can be paid by check, cash or Venmo. Each student will receive an invoice email upon beginning of each session. Please pay the full session tuition on time on the date agreed on. Lessons won't be offered without payment.
*Tuition is subject to a moderate change in the near future, starting in Fall 2016
Cancellation
If a student must cancel a lesson, you must notify me by phone 12 hours prior to the lesson time.
Please leave a voicemail or text with your name and student’s name. If the cancellation is with less than 12hrs notice, there won't be a make-up lesson nor refund.
Dropping out mid session
While it's understandable that sometimes circumstances change and you aren't able to complete a session,a refund is NOT guaranteed and there will be 25% of non-refundable fee. However if the student decided to drop out due to their lack of interest/practice/commitment, the remaining lessons will NOT be refunded at all. There is a lot going on other than the actual lessons- the lesson plans, preparations, and the time slot that I reserved for you for the whole session. Once you signed up, the ideal is to complete the whole session and if there are concerns occur, I will do my best to figure it out with you.
Reschedule
If you know in advance that you won’t be able to attend lessons at certain time you should let me know early in advance in order to reschedule lesson time. If the student is the one who has to make the change, it’s the student ‘s responsibility to reschedule the lesson with me. If there is no initiation from the student, there will be no refund or deduction for the missing lesson.
If I have to reschedule due to professional commitment conflicts, students will receive a makeup lesson in earliest convenience for both parties.
Illness/Family Emergency
If a student has to cancel the lesson due to the illness or family emergency, I will try my best to give a makeup lesson but it’s not guaranteed.
Tardiness/Missing lessons
If a student is late for more than 15 minutes, a makeup lesson won’t be guaranteed. If a student missed the whole lesson without any notification, there won’t be a makeup lesson. If a student misses two lessons in a row without notification, the student will be dismissed from the studio automatically with no refund.
Student Expectation
Students are expected to come to their lessons prepared and with all their music. While sometimes we all make mistakes of forgetting something, when it happens more than twice in a row or on a regular basis, students will potentially be asked to leave the lessons early or dismissed from the studio.
What to expect in the lessons
In the lessons, the basic structure is I will have the students learn scales, etudes, and solo pieces. Students are expected to be able to play their assigned homework with mostly correct rhythm, intonation, instead of having to stop and obviously not knowing it well.
